Is This Trip Right for You?

Uniqueness of Destination: Hotels are typically sparsely designed, yet functional, reflecting the understated Nordic lifestyle. Guest room amenities are similarly minimalistic, bathrooms small and often lacking items one might expect in European hotels such as bathmats, elaborate toiletry selections, luggage racks, in-room safes, and air-conditioning. Please be aware that Iceland is an expensive destination. Meals may be expensive as most of Iceland’s food is imported. Vegetarian menus are limited, especially outside of the capital, and certain dietary restrictions cannot be accommodated.

Things to Consider: This tour includes animal-related activities which carry inherent risks, as animal behavior can be unpredictable. You may choose not to participate. Light hiking is required to access some sites. This tour is not recommended for people who have difficulty walking. Most flights arrive to Iceland between 4-7 AM, however hotel check-in begins at 2 PM. Only the pre-purchase of a hotel night will guarantee early check-in. Important information about selecting flights to Iceland:

About Flights to Iceland

We recommend where possible to select flights to Iceland from your hometown. If you select international flights to/from Reykjavik from a major city airport and independently purchase domestic flights to travel to that city, you are at risk for flight delays or cancellations. If you miss your flights to Iceland, it will be considered a no show and the international flights will be cancelled by the airline. The airline will not refund you for unused flights. By selecting flights from your hometown, your airline will be responsible to get you to your destination, even in the event of flight delays and cancellations. If this is not possible, allow plenty of time between flights to connect in case of delays and/or consider purchasing an overnight at the connecting airport. During the winter season, there is a greater possibility of cancelled flights due to inclement weather/ snowstorms. If your flight is delayed or cancelled, please contact us immediately for assistance

Transportation: There are two days with over 5 hours of driving.

Weather Conditions: Iceland’s climate is known for being extreme and unpredictable, with rapidly changing weather conditions. Be prepared for cold, wet, and windy weather.

Pace & Terrain: Expect 3-4 hours of walking on included sightseeing days, as well as considerable time standing. There are two days with up to 6 hours of walking. You may need to walk on uneven and challenging terrain, navigate steep steps or slopes, and encounter cobblestone streets. Be prepared to traverse gravelly and mossy surfaces.
