Nieuw Statendam bustles at night, even after long days in port. Live music in venues such as B.B. King’s Blues Club and the Rolling Stone Lounge, part of the ship’s Music Walk, plus special events like the Orange Party and Bar Hop.
Holland America has a growing popularity with international passengers. The mix of European, British and American guests helped contribute to that livelier atmosphere, and people love, in particular, how the ship leaned into HAL’s Dutch heritage.
Nieuw Statendam’s cabins strike the right balance between tradition and modern upgrades. Storage is plentiful, with deep drawers, a tall cabinet perfect for boots and bulky jackets, and the bedside USB ports are welcome. Bathrooms feature bright lighting and glass-door showers—a major improvement from the shower-curtain era.
